Educational Audio-Visual Technology Solutions for South African Universities
By Terry Bourquin
Hosted at the prestigious Witwatersrand University of Johannesburg (WITS), the conference provided an ideal platform for our team, including Bruce Genricks, Derek Marsden, and Jorge Vilares, to introduce Pro AV solutions designed to modernise the higher education landscape.
Central to our exhibit were the MAXHUB Interactive Display demos, skillfully presented by Mandy Forster and Willie Kok, which captivated attendees' attention. MAXHUB's Interactive Flat Panels (IFPs) offer advanced features such as built-in cameras, microphones, and speakers, making them indispensable tools for various educational applications. These V6 ViewPro IFP displays are currently enhancing learning experiences across South African universities, facilitating:
- Interactive Presentations
- Virtual Lectures & Webinars
- Hybrid and Collaborative Learning
- Guest Lectures & Sessions
- Recorded Lectures
- Virtual Labs
- Assessment and Quizzes
- Document Sharing
Derek elaborated on advanced solutions designed specifically for lecture halls and auditoriums during the presentation. These solutions showcased innovations such as the Ultra-High Definition LED Display combined with the versatile Smart Lectern. The Smart Lectern offers electric height adjustment, integrated PC, microphone, and touchscreen functionalities seamlessly integrated into a single device. Its intelligent system integration and user-friendly features, including wired and wireless screen-sharing capabilities, have positioned it as a preferred choice for academic spaces in need of cutting-edge podium solutions.
Additionally, our exhibit featured Kramer's equipment, showcasing modular enclosures with wireless charging, auto-switchers, and H.264 encoder/decoder pairs. Kramer Education Solutions redefine traditional classroom boundaries, enabling seamless connectivity and collaboration across diverse learning environments. From classrooms to laboratories, our comprehensive solutions cater to the evolving needs of modern education, fostering immersive and dynamic learning experiences.
