AV Unlimited aces FNB Innovation Awards
By Tim Sandham
When the most innovative banking group in South Africa asks a technical production and supply company to do its Innovation Awards evening they’d better bring their A-game.
FNB asked and AV Unlimited brought their A-game. It’s what they do as a matter of course.
Says Tamsyn Strydom project leader: “FNB’s brief was simply to be innovative with the most current technology”. No sweat. Piece of cake for a company that has the word UNLIMITED in its name.
“I feel we achieved FNB’s requirements with ease by using a combination of LED, projection mapping and intelligent lighting,” says Tamsyn. “We had great support for Electrosonic SA. We have been purchasing lighting equipment from them for many years now! The first lights we purchased were the Martin Mac250’s.”
Tamsyn reckons, everything went great “All the LEDs really stood out. We used 306 panels in total”. But surely a big event for a big client does not happened without its challenges? “Too true,” concurs Tamsyn “our biggest challenge was working in a brand new venue that was not yet 100% equipped for such a big set up”.
Studio Blue in Fourways, formerly a furniture warehouse, was still in the final stages of being transformed into a state of the art venue, but the client loved what Tamsyn and her crew put together for the evening. Direct quotes will sound too much like boasting, so just take her word for it.
Or rather take her boss’s word. Guillaume (pronounced with silent L’s) Ducray – Operations Director for the Northriding-based company says “That’s what we base our business on – Client Retention –Same Events for Same Clients”.
It can’t be a bad strategy because AV Unlimited has been in business for 24 years. So it seems a go that FNB will come calling again next year.
