Electrosonic are proud to have been part of the Singita Ebony Lodge refresh in the Sabi Sand.

Working with Sally Tsiliyiannis from Gapp Architects, Town and Country Projects and Stephen Beere, Group Project Manager from Singita; Electrosonic SA put together a modern, easy-to-use, scene-setting lighting control system.

For this particular application a Helvar 905 Dali Router, Helvar 454 Leading/Trailing edge dimmers, and Helvar 498 Relays were assembled in a pre-made electrical DB at the Electrosonic HQ in Johannesburg. This was then shipped to Singita and installed by their specialist team.

With basic Pre-Programming prior to installation, all that was needed was some fine-tuning of the various scenes over the space of two glorious evenings on the banks of the Sabi Sand River. The system does not need any operator input as the Astronomical Time clock in the Helvar system recalls the Pre-Dawn, Morning, Lunch, Sunset, Evening and Late Evening Scenes according to the time of year. Manual overrides in the form of Ilumen8 toggle switches are available in discreet areas and blending in with the exquisite design. Remote access was provided to assist with any scene changes in the future.

Singita Ebony Lodge continues to lead with its new nature-centred design. The first of Singita’s lodges, it pioneered a standard of safari thirty years ago. Bringing luxury ecotourism and conservation together in experiences that leave a lasting impact, it’s a special part of the Singita story, representing its vision for the future. Hence, we are proud to be one of the suppliers on this project.
