NO MORE AVERAGE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICALS

On the 5th and 6th of March 2014 Nolte Productions held its annual Music Productions Seminar for culture teachers. The popular Pretoria seminar drew over one hundred teachers from 32 schools as far afield as Vryheid, Empangeni, Durban and Kirkwood. The seminar equips teachers to stage first class musical productions.

Nolte Productions was founded in 1996 by the charismatic husband and wife team Dawie and Lana Nolte as a one-stop sound, lighting and audio-visual equipment supplier.

NOLTE-ELECTROSONIC-WEB The company has a proven track record of outstanding service delivery and cost-effective solutions; not only do they supply and sell various brands of equipment, but they also do professional installations. Their long list of satisfied clients across the country includes schools, churches, universities, conference venues, exhibition spaces, theatres, corporate clients, government departments, equipment hiring companies and musicians.
Dawie and Lana Nolte started the Music Productions Seminar in 2009 after identifying a need among teachers. “Often teachers are thrown in at the deep end; they are told to organise a musical, and they have absolutely no clue where to start,” says Lana. The seminar covers all aspects of music production: sound, lighting, staging, décor, make-up, costumes, and planning. Day One is an A to Z of musical productions; on Day Two delegates can choose to learn more about sound and lighting, or learn more about choreography. The seminar includes meals and study materials. Dawie and Johnnie Heinemann, along with a number of expert guest lecturers, present the courses.
“We are proud of what we achieve at the Seminar” says Dawie, “but we can’t do it alone, and we are grateful to Electrosonic SA who sponsored us by providing a manual pull-up ezCinema Plus Series Elite Screen, as well as Elite Screen Yo Yos. Feedback from seminar delegates was extremely positive with one attendee recommending that the seminar be made compulsory for all culture teachers.
Should schools want to produce a CD of their musical for proud parents they can turn to Nolte Production House, another leg of the company. Nolte Production House is an all-inclusive production facility consisting of a custom-designed recording studio with state-of-the-art recording equipment, CD duplication facilities, and access to many of SA’s finest musicians, recording engineers and producers. “By combining the facilities with creativity, affordable rates, and loads of fun we guarantee a pleasant recording experience and a product you can be proud of,” says Dawie.
