DigitalMedia™ CERTIFIED DESIGNER COURSE A GREAT SUCCESS!
In July and August Crestron International's Steven Dullaert presented a 1-day class on designing and configuring a Crestron DigitalMedia™ system.
Topics discussed in the morning session included: the latest trends with digital video, HDCP & EDID Theory and Practice, DM hardware, the Switcher Configuration Tool, as well as Ethernet and DM.
After a delectable lunch, the session continued with installation-training and demonstrations of Front panel commissioning. Steven then did an overview of design applications. His reviews covered the HD Digital Transport and Distribution System (HD-DTDS) specification and the DigitalMedia™ Test Report.
Delegates participated in design exercises on Residential and Commercial as well as adding DM to an existing analogue video system. The session was concluded by participants writing the DMC-D exam.
As the analogue sunset approaches DigitalMedia is the front runner in the race to bring solutions that manage the new digital video standards and the legacy standards, on a single platform to market. With almost 70,000 systems commissioned worldwide it is an obvious choice for integrators who are preparing to move into the new dispensation, with the right tools for the job of integrating hybrid solutions without having to grapple with the complexities that the newer digital technologies are bringing to the table. Delegates felt that as far as preparing them for the digital future was concerned, the certification course had been a resounding success, and that what they had learned would place them in a position of strength in their places of work.
