Helvar Digidim 458 8-Channel Thyristor Dimmer

The 458 is an 8-channel thyristor dimmer, capable of leading-edge dimming of resistive and inductive loads.  It has DALI and S-DIM interfaces and can be fully integrated into Digidim and Image router systems. It can also be used on the touchpanel or used on stand-alone DALI or Digidim systems.

The dimmer unit has 8 channels rated at 10A, with a total current capacity of 40A.  Each pair of channels is connected to a single 10A MCB, which for example, allows one channel to be 8A and the other 2A.



The front of the unit is equipped with an LCD display with intuitive cursor control to set some basic configuration parameters and provide basic manual control.

• The dimmer unit is vertically wall-mounted and installer-friendly.
• The dimmer module can be detached for easy installation and fast swap-out in the field.
• LCD display screen and a 5-buton keypad for monitoring, configuration and manual control.
• It provides an auxiliary power supply, which can be used to power one touchpanel, and has a built-in Digidim power supply, which can be used to power DALI systems, if required.
• It is provided with by-pass connectors for operation without the dimmer module, and for testing of the lights and installation wiring.
