CM-ET TRAINING COURSE ITINERARY

We start with a Presentation which includes the following:

  1. CM-UK Company profile.
  2. Standards and Regulations.
  3. CM Replacement/Warranty policy.
  4. Inverted/Upright use.
  5. Hoist Identification and capacities
  6. Inspections.
  7. CM Lodestar Brake (AC & DC).
  8. Overload Protection.
  9. Load Bearing Parts.
  10. Testing CM Lodestar
  11. Electrical Theory.
  12. Temperature Effects.
  13. Chain – inspections.
  14. New Hoist variations and changes.
  15. D8, D8+, C1 Standards.
  16. Protector/Clutch.
  17. Wiring Diagrams.
  18. Serial Number System.
  19. Suspensions, Bottom load hooks.
  20. Limit Switches.
Practical Session
  • Complete strip down of CM Lodestar Hoist (we use V2 models for this activity).
  • Discuss the various components during strip-down (what to look for and possible problems).
  • Convert D8 to D8+ (New Lodestar only).
  • Adding a second brake to a CM Lodestar.
  • Strip down Classic AC Brake showing inspection techniques.
  • Intorq Brake inspections.
  • Dynamic Load Testing. (Dependant on facilities available).
  • Limit Setting. (Power supply required)
  • Conversion from model L (1 TON) to Model R unit (2 TON) (Power supply required).
  • Fault Finding Techniques (Power supply required).


Presentation will be approximately 4 hours duration (Morning session).
Practical will be after lunch till approximately 5:00pm, then next morning till approximately lunch time.

Lunch then followed by the exam for those taking the CM-ET examination.

Note: there is a pass mark of 75/100 which must be achieved to be registered as a CM-ET Certified Hoist Technician which is valid for 5 years.
