Mangosuthu University of Technology Upgrades Seminar Room with a Future-Ready AV Solution

By Ryan Lott

xte.pngA recent Audio Visual system upgrade at Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT), North Campus, has delivered a modern, flexible seminar room designed for hybrid teaching and collaboration.

The installation was delivered by Dasen Moodley and the DI-Info Systems team, with support from Ryan Lott, our representative in Durban.

The space is powered by Kramer Control using the KT-208 PoE Touch Panel and FC-24ETH: 4–port Serial Control Gateway, providing intuitive, reliable control of all room systems. A MAXHUB automated lecture capture system V3, with dedicated PTZ lecturer and student cameras, enables high-quality recording and streaming to support hybrid learning and content sharing across campuses. syti.png

Visual collaboration is handled by an 86-inch MAXHUB XBoard V7 Interactive Display with WT13M wireless screen-sharing dongle, supporting seamless presentations, town hall sessions, and inter-campus collaboration.

Audio performance is delivered via Kramer Yarden 6-O (6.5–Inch, 2–Way) wall-mounted speakers, powered by an Ecler eHSA4-60 multi-channel amplifier (4x60 WRMS) and complemented by a Sennheiser TeamConnect ceiling microphone and handheld microphone for clear, consistent speech reinforcement in both in-room and hybrid environments.

This latest seminar room upgrade forms part of a broader, ongoing investment by Mangosuthu University of Technology in modern audiovisual infrastructure, supporting both lecturers and students with dependable, easy-to-use learning spaces. The consistency of these upgrades points to a deliberate, long-term approach to campus AV, focused on functionality, scalability, and day-to-day reliability.

MUT has featured in two previous Electrosonic SA case studies, covering earlier AV installations that include interactive displays, control systems, and commercial audio deployments. Together, these projects illustrate a sustained commitment to building well-integrated, future-ready teaching environments across the institution.
