BAXTER & LITTLE THEATRE INVESTS IN MARTIN MACS
Electrosonic has for many years given back-up support and service to the University of Cape Town’s Baxter and Little Theatre and when the time came for an upgrade, the decision who to contact was an easy one. Both theatres were granted funding and a decision was taken to invest in Martin products.
With Martin moving heads and MACs dominating the theatre industry with its diversity, reliability and the support form Electrosonic, the deal was done.
Daniel Galloway of the Little Theatre contact Electrosonic towards the end of 2008 to enquire on products and once the funds became available, the order was placed for 2 MAC 700 Profiles, 4 MAC250 Washes, 10 Selecon Acclaim Zoomspots, 12 Selecon Rama Fresnels, 1 Jem K1 Hazer.
The Baxter Theatre has been enquiring about Martin moving heads for a long time but due to funding was never able to invest. Manny Manim, Technical Director for the Baxter was involved with lighting a show at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg when Electrosonic’s Kobus Visser demonstrated the Compulite Vector Blue control desk. Contact was made with Electrosonic and shortly after Patrick Kurtis, Assistant Technical Director of the Baxter Theatre, received an updated quotation from Robbi Nassi, the order was placed.
