Gearhouse Durban were the first adopters of the MAC Viper Profile in the Gearhouse group when they acquire 12 profiles. Based on the positive feedback from Durban, the Johannesburg branch took a bold step and added 60 Viper Profiles as their workhorse profile. Almost a year later Gearhouse Cape Town completed the hat trick when they started phasing out some of the more tired MAC 2000 Profiles and switching to Vipers.
Sometimes when it’s cold, and you feel lonely, you probably ask yourself – ‘Is there any joy to being single?’ That’s if you’re single of course. If not, you snuggle up warmly to your lover, smile smugly to yourself, and spare a fleeting thought for those poor sods who must endure the loneliness of singledom over the chilly winter months.

The National Arts Festival (NAF) is Africa’s biggest annual celebration of the arts. It’s hosted in Grahamstown, a small university city in the Eastern Cape, and takes place over eleven days every winter.
This year, from 3 to 13 July, 225 000 people attended some 2800 performances in 50 venues scattered across Grahamstown and its surrounds. Once again Electrosonic SA was a proud sponsor of this world class arts festival.

A series of training sessions on the Martin M-Series platform began at Electrosonic SA’s offices in Durban on 2 June 2014, before moving to Cape Town and then Johannesburg.
This year’s training incorporated the recently launched MSD 6 Pro, as well as the Version 3 software on the M-series platform. The training was hands-on, and students had plenty of opportunity to grasp the techniques which would help them become master lighting designers and controllers.
