CES MEDIA GETS WET - H20 AFRICA WITH MARTIN AND LITEC
A few times a year, wild ’n wet party lovers gather at the Wild Waters complex east of Johannesburg to enjoy a day (and half a night) of food, music and fun in the sun – and the water.
The H20 Africa party held in October last year attracted approximately 15,000 people, arriving from midday and partying late into the night.
CES Media was responsible for the staging of the event, and faced many challenges over the 4 day set-up, the most difficult of which was constructing the very large main stage in the wave pool. However, Martin De Bruyn, Dylan Bridle and the rest of the CES crew devised an ingenious method of using their newly acquired Litec Truss System to achieve their purpose.
The main stage had the enormous Libera ground support built on decking in the pool, with a fashion show ramp extending out towards the ‘shore’. Then they used the Litec Alusfera Dome structure to create a 3 legged arch in which they hung a vast number of lighting fixtures from their ever expanding inventory of Martin moving lights.
They rigged 32 x MAC 700s and 24 x MX 10 scanners in the arch, while 4 x Atomic strobes and a Jem Roadie Extreme with 2 x ZR33s were used to create atmosphere on stage and in the crowd.
