CM MOTOR SCHOOL
Training on CM motorised chain hoists is presented by Electrosonic SA every year to maintain safe operation and maintenance practices for end users and technicians. The regular training also enhances the ability of technicians to easily locate and repair any faults which may occur on hoists.
The CM MOTOR SCHOOL was hosted in February and March this year in Johannesburg, Cape Town and in Durban. Staging companies who own and operate CM hoists were invited to learn from David Carmack, a CM veteran with a 34 year track record at CM Entertainment Technologies in the USA. His vast experience includes the mechanical and electrical construction of CM products, troubleshooting and repair, as well as engineering research and development.
The training is a full day course covering topics such as electrical theory, mechanical theory, maintenance procedures, fault finding and repair. Also included is a history of Columbus Mc Kinnon - the global leader in providing products and application knowledge to help customers lift, position, or secure materials easily and safely. The practical element covers all CM models and involves stripping down and re-assembling the hoists.
David, who has presented training courses on five continents said, "Visiting South Africa is at the top of my list and I love being with the Electrosonic team. I am supposed to motivate and support them, but it is the other way around - seeing their excitement and passion only motivates me more! "
Keith Pugin, Electrosonic's Product Manager for CM and Litec, said the CM Motor School has become extremely popular over the years. "In the history of hosting CM motor schools, this one had the best turnout to date, with 47 delegates in total."
