FIRE RAIDERS

Customers who order smoke machines typically require them for stage performances, special events and night clubs, but recently Electrosonic SA was asked to supply one that could be used to train fire fighters in simulated situations. VDS Fire, a Johannesburg company that distributes and markets a range of portable fire fighting equipment and personal safety products, needed a very high power smoke machine to rapidly create the simulated atmosphere of a blazing fire in a building.

Since Jem is a leader in smoke and atmosphere effects, Electrosonic SA supplied VDS Fire with 3 workhorse machines in the form of the Jem ZR 44 as well as a Jem Roadie Extreme - a 165 kg monster that produces more than 5000 cubic metres of smoke per minute, fed from its enormous 19 litre internal tank.
