Following the worldwide buzz about the new Martin MAC Viper series earlier in 2012, Theo Papenfuss, owner of rental house Stage Effects, was faced with a decision: his client base was demanding more light in a smaller package - he knew he needed to invest in newer technology.

Theo took one look at the Martin MAC Viper's specifications on paper, and without even having seen a unit, placed his order for 8 MAC Vipers. He had full faith in this new product's capabilities as Stage Effects is an established user of Martin Professional products with a big inventory of trusty old MAC 600s that are still in daily use.

Then it was only a matter of waiting (and that Theo did patiently) to get his Vipers, as there is a huge backorder for one of Martin Professionals brightest smallest fixture in its class.

The first opportunity to use the MAC Vipers arose when Jan Haarhoff from J-Sound popped in at Electrosonic SA to collect some consumables. While spending time with Robbi Nassi in the Entertainment Lighting demo room, Jan laid eyes on Theo's MAC Vipers which were undergoing pre-delivery testing. He immediately knew that these units were exactly what J-Sound required to successfully stage the upcoming Michael W Smith Tour they had been awarded.

Jan had recently placed an order for some MAC 401's and immediately contacted his old friend, Theo Papenfuss, to discuss combining these with the MAC Vipers. It worked out perfectly and the scene was set for the Michael W Smith Tour in South Africa with brand new Martin MAC Vipers and MAC 401's producing breathtaking lighting effects.

Jan's comments about the Michael W Smith Tour confirms what Martin Professional is all about: "It has been a very successful and fabulous tour where the Martin gear once again proved that it is top of the class! The optics, brightness, simplicity and reliability... just untouchable!"

Theo is thrilled at his purchase, and as soon as finances permit he will be adding more MAC Vipers to his inventory.
