Martin MAC III Profile

The MAC III Profile offers a perfect balance between superior features and ultimate performance. This high-output profile spot combines a new 1500 watt lamp technology with superb optical efficiency and a new design to take moving head performance to a higher level.

Completely re-designed from scratch and packed with new patent pending technology, the 1500W MAC III Profile features a new platform for all round higher performance. The ideal partner for the MAC 2000 Wash XB, the MAC III Profile offers a superior package of innovative features that includes greater output than other profiles in its class, improved colour vibrancy, exceptional gobo and animation effects, a wide zoom range and low noise cooling, as well as advances in control, handling, service and more.

Efficient Optics Unique Fat Beam

Mac3EyeCandy1This high output profile spot uses a 1500W Lok-it! Lamp that features high optical efficiency for sharp imagery and enhanced high depth of field – especially at wider beam angles – giving a crisper beam and sharper projection images at various projection angles.

The MAC III Profile uses a unique, broad front lens for an eye-catching and distinctive fat beam look with great beam definition.

Better, Broader Range of Colours

An enhanced CMY colour mixing system gives a wider range of vibrant colours across the spectrum – true reds, for example, plus a broad range of uniform pastels. A fixed colour wheel houses 7 interchangeable slots plus open for an even broader colour range. Users can create colour bumps and splits. The expanded colour gamut is complemented with variable CTO.

Gobos and Animations

The MAC III Profile houses two rotating gobo wheels – both 5 slot plus open and auto-indexable – and features a set of gobo designs, all easily replaceable. The combination of two gobo wheels with high optical separation allows for unique morphing effects. Gobos are ‘keyed’ to allow for gobo changes while maintaining its indexed position.

In order to provide designers with the finest in graphics projection, Martin has included its pioneer gobo animation system which allows for the projection of effect simulations such as rising flames, drifting clouds, driving rain, turbulent water and many more. In order to allow for more complex designs, the animation wheel is made of glass and is easy to insert, thanks to a new drive system.

More Effects

Mac3_0023The MAC III Profile features Martin’s smoothest dimming system yet, a face that is completely uniform across the beam, all the way to blackout. It also includes a separate shutter for fast and punchy strobe effects, as well as a total front lens blackout. A motorised iris with more blades for a smoother beam edge is also included when a tight beam is required; and a variable rotating, 4-facet prism (replaceable) provides real beam multiplication for even greater beam and projection opportunities.

Zoom and Focus

A linked zoom and focus with an 11.5 to 55 degree true zoom range is exceptionally fast and zooms to full in less than a second. Gobo effects hold a sharp focus through the entire zoom range and at varying throws.

Fast, Accurate, Quiet

Fast, smooth and accurate movement is a key element in the MAC III Profile’s new platform.  Housing extremely powerful motors, the MAC III Profile is faster than many smaller fixtures.  A precise pan and tilt system (5400 x 2700) gives measured and accurate movement.  The MAC III Profile’s absolute positioning system enables the fixture to position immediately without the need for a re-set and even allows for pan and tilt movement limits when fixtures are rigged in tight spaces.

The MAC III Profile is also exceptionally quiet.  A low noise cooling system incorporates some of the same principles as Martin’s silent MAC TW1 luminaire, trapping heat and silently dissipating it away from the back of the fixture. It also includes a unique ducting system that sends air out of the fixture via the light path.

Control

MAC III Profile control modes include DMX512A and RDM and the fixture is fully prepared for ArtNet II and CAN.

Takes Modularity One Step Further

The MAC III Profile features an attractive new design, yet is easily recognizable as a MAC.  Modules are self contained, making it quick to swap modules on site in the rig. This not only makes the fixture highly service friendly, but also improves overall fixture reliability.
The fixture is supplied with electronic ballast for flicker-free operation and includes an auto-sensing switch-mode power system for worldwide compatibility.

On-Board Software and GUI

In order to make the fixture more user-friendly, on-board software creates a service and event log for download. By logging fixture and event information, such as use statistics and service and trouble shooting data, important fixture information stays with the fixture and is easily and readily available.

Another innovation that users will find convenient and time-saving is an LCD screen Graphical User Interface with jog wheel. The LCD screen makes the fixture easy to program, troubleshoot and use, and is battery-powered so fixture status can be read while still in the flightcase.
