PAUL PELLITIER TAKES M2GO ON THE ROAD
Paul Pelletier of Martin Professional visited South Africa in mid-April to demonstrate the M2GO control desk. Electrosonic SA's Bruce Schwartz and Robbi Nassi accompanied this industry legend during his whirlwind week in the country. Paul has been instrumental in pushing Martin Professional Controllers in a new direction. He was also behind the hugely successful introduction of the M1 controller in 2011.
"We introduced Paul to more than 30 customers across South Africa and they were all very excited about the M2GO desk", said Bruce.
Paul's week-long tour started in Johannesburg with two days of back-to-back meetings. For JR Roughley from Vedatech and Christopher Bolton from Keystone, who have spent years communicating with Paul via mail and telephone, it was like a reunion of old friends.
Next up was Durban – a small, but important hub – and Paul had every minute of his day booked with visits to theatres, and meetings with leading rental houses.
The Cape Town leg of Paul's tour was also jam-packed with two days of demos and meetings. "But we gave him Saturday off to take in the sights of Cape Town and sample the cuisine, before flying back to Johannesburg", laughed Robbi.
On the Sunday morning Paul received a rude awakening at 3:30 am when Bruce roused him to get ready for a trip to Sun City and a sunrise game drive at the Pilanesberg. The early wake-up call was soon forgotten as Paul had a great time photographing African game with his top of the range Canon.
Paul Pelletier's long-anticipated visit was short, but very successful. "The first batches of M2GOs and M2PCs sold out long before production began," said Bruce, "so I'm sure the M Series will grow exponentially."
