Gerrie Coetzee  shares a bit more detail of what we can expect at the Pro AV Tech Trends Showcase 2020.

The X3 Collaborative Interactive Display stole the show at the ProAV Tech Trends Show in 2019. Do you think the revolutionary MAXHUB Integrated LED Display Terminal and Podium Lectern will enjoy the same reception, if not better?

Gerrie Coetzee (GC): I think that the podium and LED Displays are extensions of the MAXHUB products that we have come to enjoy so much. It is the same technology, but for bigger spaces like auditoriums. So, these products will definitely be adopted by clients that own and operate larger meeting spaces. I believe they will be accepted to the same degree as the Collaborative Interactive Display range. MAXHUB continuously design innovative products for meeting spaces of the future and I predict that forward-thinking people will welcome this technology. MAXHUB is no longer just an amazing product, it is now an amazing product range.

Why did you decide to start the ProAV Tech Trends Showcase in Cape Town and extend it by a full week? Will it travel to other parts of the country as it did last year?

GC: Our hand was forced in this regard as we have some clients that have already looked at the information, specifications and videos on these products. They have asked for proposals and the products tick all the boxes for their new auditorium. They have asked to see the product before placing their order. Due to this, we have decided to take the products to them and kick off the ProAV Tech Trends Showcase in Cape Town. Due to the success of last year’s showcase and the amount of interest shown in these products, we have decided to extend our time in each centre. We are also taking the showcase to Durban and Johannesburg this in March.

The MAXHUB Bluetooth Teleconference Speaker is also a new release from MAXHUB, what does it offer that other speakers in the market can’t do?

GC: The main application for this device is that it ties into the MAXHUB products to extend the already impressive 8 metre audio coverage offered by the array microphones pre-installed in the MAXHUB displays. This is an ideal companion for the MAXHUB products in conferencing applications. The MAXHUB Teleconference Speaker can be placed on the boardroom table for people who would like the more traditional user interface on the Boardroom table. In addition, the unit can be used as a standalone device connected to your favourite conferencing software installed on your 3^rd party display or PC, similar to other products on the market. We believe the audio quality is exceptional and we cannot wait to share the experience at the showcase.

Electrosonic offers the MAXHUB Mirroring Box as part of their product range to the Southern African market. What exactly is its function?

GC: The Mirroring Box can have eight devices connected to it simultaneously. Four of these devices can be displayed on the screen at the same time. Essentially the Mirroring Box allows you to take the wireless presentation capability of the MAXHUB and use it on any third party display with an HDMI input. This Third party display could be a projector and screen or any other display. We often demonstrate this product with our ProSpectre Displays. Should the third party display have an interactive component (touch Overlay), the USB cable on the touch overlay can be plugged into the MAXHUB Mirroring Box and this would enable you to control the PC connected to the Mirroring Box. This feature is used to search for files, open applications and control your presentation on your PC from the interactive third party display.
