ARRI AND ADB-TTV IN CROSS-MARKETING AGREEMENT

ARRI Lighting Solutions and ADB-TTV Technologies have entered into a cross-marketing agreement with the double objective of exploiting the synergies between their product ranges and exploring opportunities for rationalising their product spectrum.

In the field of lighting, ARRI's strengths lie primarily in TV studio and location lighting systems, while ADB's are in stage lighting. The agreement makes provision for each party to source from the other those complementary products needed when bidding for specific lighting projects. Beyond this, each party will retain its total commercial independence.

Sigrid Müller, Managing Director of ARRI Lighting Solutions and Christian Léonard, CEO of ADB-TTV Technologies, jointly stated, "We strongly believe that this agreement will be a win-win deal, strengthening each party's competitive position and proving beneficial to our customers, thanks to a more homogeneous product offering that marries the best of two worlds."

Robbi Nassi, Technical Sales & Support for Electrosonic SA's Entertainment Lighting division, welcomed the agreement, saying that the popular and world-renowned brand adds a lot more versatility to Electrosonic SA's product line in film and television lighting. "We are now able to open up to different markets offering a wider product range with a name of quality and durability".

Robbi added that Electrosonic SA can now make available the full range of Arri Studio and TV Lighting, with products ranging from their Junior Series, TV Tungsten Luminaires the Blue Series, LED TV Series with the Arri L7-C and L7- T. "With this partnership we are able to offer competitive pricing and product support that we did not previously allow for in Arri" he said "the ultimate beneficiaries of this agreement are our clients".

Church's New Lighting System is 'Intense'

Choose Life is a family-orientated church in Moreleta Park, Pretoria. The church was founded in 2005 and its lead Pastor is John Roebert.

In 2013 the Choose Life Executive Team made a decision to produce live broadcasts and edited broadcast packages of church services and activities. "Unfortunately, all we had in our auditorium was a set of badly positioned old Parcans," says Grant Boswell, Tech Support Officer at Choose Life. Pastor John asked Grant to approach a number of companies to propose a solution to their problem.

After evaluating the various options Grant and the Executive Team selected Renier Smit of Electrosonic SA to install the system they proposed. "Initially we chose Electrosonic SA simply because they offered Martin Entertainment range of products which are so much more intense than anything else" laughs Grant "but they look after us so well, it turned out to be a very good decision".

Working around pre-booked events the five installation days were staggered over a period of two weeks in January, with another day devoted to setting up.

Grant's full shopping list included:

  • 1 x M2Go Console & Elo Touchscreen
  • 8 x Mac 350
  • 20 x Mac Aura
  • 2 x Versalite LED Parcan Amber/White
  • 1 x Jem Compact Pro Hazer
  • 3 x 8m LX DMX Bars
  • 1 x 2.2m LX DMX Bar
  • 2 x Martin DMX 5.5 RDM Splitter
  • Litec Trussing for the stage

"The feedback has been 99% positive," says Grant, "Performers and members of the congregation are impressed by the great atmosphere that the new lighting creates".

At this stage there are no plans to add to the lighting set-up. "At some point we'll be installing dimmable houselights", says Grant wistfully. "And when we do, we'll certainly go to Renier and Electrosonic SA first."

MARTIN PROFESSIONAL MAC 401S IN DEMAND IN SOUTH AFRICA

mac401dualrgbzoom

Initially, after it's SA launch, the MAC 401 Dual Wash got off to a slow start, but

when Electrosonic and Martin Professional decided to put together an irresistible offer on this powerful unit, it turned out to be an inspired tactic. Soon after announcing the special on the units, they were literally all sold before they left Martin's warehouse in Venlo, The Netherlands. During the long wait for the container ship to arrive, further names appeared on the waiting list for extra units, but Electrosonic managed to satisfy the demand.

MARTIN PROFESSIONAL VISITS SOUTH AFRICA

IMG 2426

Peter Dahlin - Martin Professional's Area Sales Manager for South Africa is no stranger to our land. Since accepting his appointment 3 years ago the strength of Martin's product sales and service has grown immensely. The situation had grown to such an extent that Christian Engsted - the CEO of Martin - decided to come see for himself how things were on the ground. Squeezed in between visits to key clients, awesome wining & dining, and lots of laughter Christian was treated to a show staged by Electrosonic. The 'stars' of the show were the Plasa2011 award-winning MAC Aura and the new show-stopping MAC Viper. After the show Christian and key clients enjoyed traditional South African "Boerie Rolls" and beer under clear African skies.
