Acting on the dire shortage of freelance lighting designers and operators with their own desks, Sean Rosig left the security of permanent employment with Gearhouse South Africa and took the plunge into freelancing almost a year ago. After six years with Gearhouse and 14 years in the rental market, Sean believed he had the knowledge and confidence to give it a go.
Training on CM motorised chain hoists is presented by Electrosonic SA every year to maintain safe operation and maintenance practices for end users and technicians. The regular training also enhances the ability of technicians to easily locate and repair any faults which may occur on hoists.
The CM MOTOR SCHOOL was hosted in February and March this year in Johannesburg, Cape Town and in Durban. Staging companies who own and operate CM hoists were invited to learn from David Carmack, a CM veteran with a 34 year track record at CM Entertainment Technologies in the USA. His vast experience includes the mechanical and electrical construction of CM products, troubleshooting and repair, as well as engineering research and development.
Cool Music Productions was established in 1999 as a technical service provider offering a one-stop service solution. They provide sound and lights for events, filming, and produce music DVDs, corporate videos and training material in their recording and video editing suite.
‘NY @ Kirstenbosch’ was the banner for the New Year’s Eve concert at Kirstenbosh Gardens in Cape Town. Approximately 5000 people were there to see Prime Circle and a supporting performance by Elvis Blue. Marcel Bezuidenhout from Audio Engineering, which supplied all technical equipment for the Summer Concert Series at Kirstenbosch, invited JP Willson from Unfazed Productions to partner him in supplying, rigging and operating the lighting for the New Year’s Eve party.
