The country’s favourite horse race – the Vodacom Durban July – was once again the winter event of the year (not that anyone can tell that it’s winter in Durban). Some race-goers were glum because it was not the favourite runner, ‘Pocket Power’ who crossed the finish line first, but outsider, ‘Big City Life’, who brought home the gold.
Electrosonic had the honour of contributing to the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown by providing technical training on Theatre and Intelligent lighting for 140 hired technicians.
Before the kick off of the 2009 FIFA Confederation Cup Final at Ellis Park stadium in Johannesburg, the 53,000 live audience plus several million Superchannel 1 and SABC viewers witnessed an equally exciting and beautifully visual Closing Ceremony.
